Solar repair in Uganda starts with a paid diagnostic visit (UGX 250,000 in Kampala) and a written fault report you keep — whether or not you proceed with NilePhase for the fix. Common root causes: factory-default inverter settings cooking lithium packs, missing earthing, undersized cabling, mismatched battery chemistry, or a sales-led "fix" that papered over the real fault. We work on systems we did not install and on systems other installers have already touched.

Most solar problems in Uganda are fixable without expensive parts

The majority of faults we see are configuration or workmanship issues — not failed hardware. Wrong inverter settings, missing earthing, undersized cables, batteries that were never properly configured.

Wrong Inverter Settings

Charge voltages set to factory defaults instead of the battery spec. Cut-off voltages too low, killing battery cells. Generator start thresholds misconfigured. We audit every parameter.

Earthing & Grounding Faults

Missing earth connections, incorrect bonding, or no surge protection. Causes earth leakage trips, inverter shutdowns, and safety hazards. We test earth continuity and correct the installation.

Battery Degradation

Batteries dying faster than expected? Often caused by overcharging, deep discharge cycles, or wrong chemistry settings on the inverter — not the battery itself. We test cell health and identify the real cause.

Panels Underperforming

String misconfiguration, shading issues, dirty panels, or MPPT tracking errors. We measure string output against expected values and identify the shortfall.

Generator Integration

Generator not kicking in, ATS not switching, or the inverter fighting the generator. We configure the interaction between solar, battery, grid and generator properly.

Overheating & Cable Faults

Undersized cables, loose terminations, or poor ventilation causing overheating shutdowns. We inspect the full cable run and correct sizing, routing and termination quality.
